Among those who have contributed immensely for the popularity of my websites is Chindamada Arati Monappa (in picture), a textile designer.
She brings out a line of clothing, sarees and accessories, primarily using natural dyes and craft techniques. She runs an eco-friendly store “Serenity” in Bangalore.
Arati has mainly contributed articles relating to lifestyle. She has written on Kodava festivals and culture, including an article on what to shop in Coorg.
Perhaps, Arati’s major contribution has been for the jewellery section. She says Coorg jewellery is very distinctive, yet the influence of neighboring States is evident. “The jewellery worn by the Coorgs are inspired by nature, in the form of flowers, fruits, serpents, the moon, sun, and stars.”
