The latest viral ad featuring Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and American actor Johnny Sins has brought into focus the two men behind the ad who hail from Coorg in Karnataka.
Bollywood celebrities, including Priyanka Chopra, have been all praise for the ad which is a parody of an Indian daily soap and promotes men’s sexual health.
The ad has been created by the advertising agency Moonshot Media, co-owned by former head writer of All India Bakchod (AIB), Devaiah Bopanna. The ad is directed by Ayappa K.M. one of India’s top ad film directors. In the picture, Devaiah Bopanna is the one wearing glasses and Ayappa is standing next to Johnny Sins.
Devaiah Bopanna has been involved in the writing of Cred, Shark Tank, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Disney+ Hotstar promos among others.
The duo of Ayappa and Devaiah Bopanna were also involved in the production of the iconic Cred ad ‘Indiranagar Ka Gunda’ featuring cricketer Rahul Dravid, which is considered as one among the best Indian ads ever made. The ad hit a million views within an hour.
‘Borderlands’, a documentary feature film co-produced by Devaiah Bopanna won a National Award.
The 1986-born Palanganda Devaiah Bopanna studied at Baldwin School, St. Joseph’s PUC College, and graduated from B.M.S. College of Engineering. He worked for top advertising agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, and Mudra in Bangalore before moving to Mumbai.
