Facebook page ‘Coorg-Kodagu News’, considered as the news hub for Coorg-related news, has now more than 10,000 followers.
The FB page was started by journalist P.T. Bopanna (in picture) in May, 2013, to highlight news concerning Kodagu (Coorg), the smallest district in Karnataka.
Commenting on the FB page, Bopanna, who is also author of several Coorg-centric books, said: “I have tried to keep the page free from any political bias. It is my endeavor to carry all communities living in Kodagu. More than anything, I feel the page belongs to the people of Kodagu.”
Bopanna, who has more than three decades of experience as a journalist with several national newspapers, including The Times of India, Bengaluru, also runs a highly successful news website www.coorgnews.in. He runs four other websites, including www.coorgtourisminfo.com which was started in 2005.
His latest book, ‘Are Kodavas (Coorgs) Hindus?’ was published last month. Bopanna has published five other books, including the ‘Romance of Indian Coffee’ which won the 2015 Gourmand international award for the ‘best coffee book in the world’.
Congrats! May the numbers multiply!
